Transportation in India
Water transport in India is rather poorly developed.
There is a sea service between Port Blair (Andaman Islands), Kolkata and Madras (only during the tourist season), and between Kolkata and Madras.
A more modern line is between Cochin and the Lakshadweep Islands.
There are regular passenger ships along the Kerala coast, and several flights, including a real wheeled steamer, connect Allapuzha and Kovalam (formerly Alleppey and Quilon).
A modern catamaran with air-conditioned cabins runs between Bombay and Goa.
Foreign tourists are allowed to pay in rupees if they have a currency exchange receipt.
Refunds are allowed at least 24 hours before departure (a fee of 200 rupees will be charged).
If you cancel your trip less than a day in advance, the ticket price is not refundable.

South Goa. Firstly, it’s great hotels with a well-developed recreation infrastructure.
Secondly, there are luxurious beaches with lively and warm sea.
People spend the whole day on the beach – sunbathing, swimming, water sports, cycling and just walking: the local beaches are huge and look like the avenues of a big city.

There are also cafes right on the sand, where any seafood can be prepared for ridiculously cheap prices.
Sooner or later, the most discerning tourists move here for lunch – it’s delicious and cheap.
A large portion of rice with shrimp costs two dollars, a huge baked fish costs 12-15 dollars.
There are many other restaurants near each hotel.
It’s clean and safe from a hygienic point of view, and tourists are happy to eat here and feed their children.

North Goa. It is here that a special “Goa Peeple” lives, gathering here for the winter to wait out the bad weather in Europe, “hang out” and, what’s the worst part, smoke.
A similar tradition was started by hippies who found this paradise.
Endless beaches, “weed”, warmth, cheap, relaxed.
It was in these conditions that Goa trance music was born and trance parties appeared – collective dances on the beach under a slight buzz.

Today, it is not the first generation of Europeans who live in North Goa.
Many of them have businesses here – hotels, restaurants, some sew clothes and shoes.
Some sell weed.
Hotels and food in North Goa are cheap, and a motorcycle, bandana, and tattoo are a must.

Tourists from South Goa definitely come to North Goa to see, dance and visit the night market.
When it comes to dancing, there is a lot of choice.
There are decent establishments with chic furnishings and an elegant crowd – everything is decent.
The lower the prices and the simpler the place, the more colorful the flavor and the higher the “hit”.
Trance parties are usually held on the beach.
You can hear the famous “trance” everywhere.

One of the main hangouts is the Saturday night market.
People exchange news, sell and buy everything at the market – shoes and clothes, souvenirs and bedspreads, figurines and bags, gems and works of art.
