Vacation in Ayia Napa

Ayia Napa is a city located in the southeastern part of the island that does not sleep day or night. In this resort you will find clear sea, fine sand and many restaurants, shops, hotels, discos and a huge selection of entertainment for every taste.

The resort is attractive for young people because of the large number of clubs and discos, no wonder Ayia Napa is often called the second Ibiza.

The beaches of Ayia Napa with fine golden sand, clear, calm sea, hospitable hotels with green areas are attractive for families with children. For the youngest guests, many hotels have organized “live corners” with chickens, pheasants, rabbits and other animals.

Diving enthusiasts will be interested in exploring the numerous underwater sites in Ayia Napa – shipwrecks, amphorae, mysterious caves and bizarre rock formations, and it will be easier for beginners to master their first scuba diving skills in the calm sea.

The main attraction of Ayia Napa is the 16th-century Venetian monastery. Nowadays, only the church remains in the monastery. In the 16th century, the monastery was built by the Venetians, and then the Turks, who captured the islands, gave it to the Orthodox community of Cyprus.

According to legend, the indoor fountain located on the monastery grounds was built in memory of one of the nuns. A girl who was born into a rich and noble family fell in love with a poor man, her parents were against the marriage, and desperate to get their blessing, she became a nun.

In the western part of the country, there is a national park with an area of 59.7 thousand hectares. In contrast to the rich flora of the park (here you can find strawberry trees, alder oak, juniper, cedar, and Greek mountain ash), the fauna of Cyprus in general and the National Park in particular is not so rich: the usual hares and foxes are considered rare animals here, and the feathered inhabitants of the island are mostly representatives of the sparrow family.

Not far from Ayia Napa, in 1996, the Waterworld Waterpark was opened, decorated in the style of the myths of ancient Greece, as the names of the attractions remind us: “Throw to Atlantis”, “Poseidon’s Adventures” (a pool with meter-high waves), “Zephyr’s Breeze”, “Phaeton’s Pipe” (a transparent pipe where you will be free-falling at the end), “Aelos’ Rotating Ball”, “Odyssey River” will slowly carry you along its course and tell you about the adventures of this hero, and “Mount Olympus” is waiting for those who like to tickle their nerves.
